Jelle Prins saw a revolution coming and chose to be an entrepreneur. He started to build apps with some friends and got the attention of the founder of Uber, who asked him to build a prototype. After starting Moop he is now back at Uber, where it all started!
Jelle Prins graduated in Business and Computer Science at the UVA. Where most of his fellow students went to work for corporates, he saw a revolution coming and chose to be an entrepreneur. He started to build apps with some friends, which got great exposure in international media and they also won second price in the Google Android Developer Challenge with iNap Arrival Alert. This led Garrett Camp (founder of Uber) to ask Jelle Prins if he wanted to build the prototype for the Uber-app in 2009. A year later Jelle left Uber to start his own app-building agency ‘Moop’, eventually biggest part of ‘Moop’ transferred to Uber where they are now building ‘product’-teams, teams with a mix of designers, engineers and data-analysts to work on the mobile application of Uber. Now he is back where it all started!
